The Essence of this Sacrament
Baptism is the birth of a new life in Christ. Through baptism, one becomes an adopted daughter or son of God, a temple of the Holy Spirit, a member of the Church, the body of Christ.
Receiving the Sacrament of Baptism
The Basilica’s pastoral team is happy to accompany your children in this important stage of their Christian life.
These are community baptisms (a maximum of four children per ceremony). Private baptisms can exceptionally be celebrated; call us for more information.
You and the priest agree on the date of the baptism and the preparatory meeting. The parents, as well as the godparents, must be present at this preparatory meeting. The baptism and meeting are offered in French or English. The godparents must be Catholic, baptized and confirmed.

Funérailles
The priest welcomes the bereaved family to accompany them and be a bearer of hope. Together, they prepare a meaningful celebration for those who have lost a loved one.

The anointing of the sick is especially intended to comfort those who are afflicted by illness.

On your wedding day, before your parents and friends and in the presence of God, you commit yourself to create with your spouse a true community of life and love.
Confirmation
Confirmation brings growth and deepening of baptismal grace. Like baptism, it is received only once.

Jazz Mosaic featuring the Jonathan Ethier Trio
Under the direction of jazz guitarist Jonathan Ethier, the Jonathan Ethier Trio elegantly revisits great standards, swing, and Latin rhythms, while adding a modern touch to more recent pieces. The trio features Marcin Garbulinski on double bass and Éric Thibodeau on drums, forming a rhythm section that is both flexible and powerful. Together, they create a vibrant atmosphere where virtuosity and the joy of playing come together.
