Pierre Grandmaison
Titular Organist at Notre-Dame since 1973
Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica is delighted to announce an exceptional exceptional event: an organ concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the career of Pierre Grandmaison, titular organist at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica. The concert will take place on Sunday, October 8th at 7 p.m.
Since 1973, Mr. Grandmaison has been the musical pillar of our beloved beloved basilica. Born in Montreal, he studied piano at the École Vincent-d'Indy school in Outremont, while perfecting his organ skills with Eugène Lapierre and Françoise Aubut. In 1970, he obtained his Bachelor of Music from the Université de Montréal, launching an exceptional career.
Over the years, Mr. Grandmaison has accompanied some 400 annual celebrations at the Basilica, including weddings, funerals and Masses. He also shared his passion for the organ by warmly welcoming visitors to the Basilica during the Have a Seat at the Organ event, available to the general public every Friday throughout the summer. His exceptional dedication to his art has enriched our lives and our musical experience at the Notre-Dame Basilica.
We invite you to join us in celebrating this historic moment with us, and we would be honoured to have you join us for this memorable evening. We hope to see many of you there to share in this unforgettable event.
