This Week at Notre-Dame
Message for Lent
By Marcel Demers PSS
This word evokes sometimes fears about what this time brings us. When I was a child, we were often told often said, "We don't eat candy during Lent! If the rules of fasting are softened, the very word can make us think of "deprivation, defense..."
What if we thought differently? In the early centuries of the Church, Lent was primarily intended to accompany people who were preparing for baptism. Today we can look at this period as an opportunity to rediscover the beauty of our being children of God. No closed doors but open windows. Are you interested in adventure?
