At Your Own Pace

Discover Montréal’s history at your own pace, from the origins of the colony to the imposing church that stands today, and learn about the Basilica’s architecture, works of art and interior decor, which is sculpted, painted and gilded in gold leaf.

Step beneath the impressive vaulted ceiling of Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal and discover its wonders on a self-guided tour. During this approximately one-hour long sightseeing visit, you will be invited to explore 24 points of interest inside the nave, each highlighting a work of art, an architectural element or a piece of history.
